Question: Why do I need to download two programs for eCard Animator?

Answer: The size for a complete eCard Animator installation is over 720 MB. We wanted you to begin using eCard Animator quickly. For faster download, we have divided this into the Main Program and the Content Package.

You may download and install the Main Program and at a later time download and install the Content Package. The Content Package contains all of the 3D animations you see in the samples.

Question: What type of images and photos can I use with eCard Animator?

Answer: You can use most popular types of image and photo files with eCard Animator. The most commonly used image files are JPGs, BMPs, WMFs and TIFs.

Your image files can be large or small; eCard Animator will do its best to format them for the animations. You can choose to center, crop or stretch the image. If you find that eCard Animator’s handling of your image isn’t right, you may want to edit your image prior to inserting into eCard Animator. Please refer to the Help file and the manual for further information.

Question: What audio and music files can I use with eCard Animator?

Answer: You can use MP3 audio files with eCard Animator, the most widely used format.

Your audio files can be of any length, but they will play only for the duration of the animation to which they are attached. Please refer to the Help file and the manual for further information.

Question: What is .NET?

Answer: .NET is the Microsoft Web service for connecting information, people, systems, and devices through software. It allows the program to interact with the user. If you encounter a message in eCard Animator saying that you need to install the .NET from Microsoft simply go to http://www.microsoft.com/net .

Question: What is DirectX?

Answer: DirectX is a part of the computer's operating system for displaying information and imsage of your video monitor. Normally you will not encounter a message pertaining to DirectX. If you do, simply go to their web site to download the most current version at: http://www.microsoft.com/directx .

Question: What are .SWF files?

Answer: .SWF is a special file format. It is an acronym for Adobe Software’s ‘Shockwave Flash’. It is a common video file format that is playable on most PCs.

Question: When I send an email to someone with my eCard with the animation attached, they get a message that states, ‘This file does not have a program associated….’.

Answer: If they receive this error message when they try to play your animation, it means that they will need to do one of two things:

They can save the attached animation to their Desktop and load the animation by opening Microsoft Internet Explorer and opening the file.

Or, they can locate and download and install an Adobe Flash player to view it.
